Website information
Privacy & Cookie Policy
This policy explains what information this HOA website uses, why it is used, and the choices available to visitors.
The short version
This site does not use analytics, advertising pixels, or marketing cookies, and it stores nothing in your browser to recognize or track you. Its one third party is Google reCAPTCHA, which protects the contact form from spam.
Because there is no optional data collection, the site does not ask you to make a cookie choice. If optional services are added in the future, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested before those services are enabled.
Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small files that a website may store in your browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature. The following is the complete list of storage used by this site's current configuration:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_GRECAPTCHA and related reCAPTCHA storage | Necessary third-party cookie and browser storage, set by Google | Lets Google reCAPTCHA tell a person from an automated script, so the contact form is not flooded with spam. It is a security measure, not advertising or analytics, and is not used to profile you. | Set by Google, typically about six months. |
Information you choose to provide
If you use the contact form, the site sends the name, email address, topic, and message you enter to the HOA through Netlify Forms. The Board of Directors uses that information to respond to your request and for related association business. Do not submit sensitive personal or financial information through the form.
You may instead email the association at villas.at.the.grove.dc@gmail.com.
Hosting and outside links
Netlify
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like most hosting providers, Netlify may process technical request information—such as IP address, browser or device details, timestamps, and security logs—to deliver and protect the site. Contact-form submissions are also processed by Netlify. See Netlify's privacy statement for its practices.
Google reCAPTCHA
The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which loads on the page containing the form and on the confirmation page. To tell homeowners apart from automated scripts, Google receives your IP address and information about your browser and your interaction with the page, and reads and writes the storage described in the table above. This is used to protect the association from form spam and abuse; it is not advertising, analytics, or profiling. Because it is a security measure that the form cannot function safely without, it is not optional. See Google's privacy policy and terms of service.
Links to other websites
The site links to maps, community resources, document files, and other organizations. Those destinations are controlled by their respective operators and have their own privacy practices. They are not loaded merely because you visit this site.
Your choices
There is no optional data collection to switch off. The site sets nothing of its own in your browser, and the only storage your visit causes is Google reCAPTCHA's spam protection on the contact form, described in the table above.
You can remove that storage at any time by clearing this site's cookies and local storage in your browser, and browser privacy controls may block it outright. The site's pages and documents will still work either way, though the contact form may then be unable to verify your submission. You can always reach the association by email instead.
Retention, security, and children
Contact information is retained only as reasonably needed for association business, recordkeeping, and legal obligations. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no website or email system can guarantee absolute security.
This association website is intended for homeowners and community-related visitors, not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the site.
Questions and policy updates
Questions about this policy may be sent to villas.at.the.grove.dc@gmail.com. This page may be updated when the website's services or legal requirements change. If optional data use is ever introduced, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested before it begins.
